Emeritus Staff
“Chet” is the Emeritus Veterinary Assistant at the East Columbus Veterinary Hospital. Retired from active military service in 1979, Chet attended Columbus State for Animal Technology, and worked at the East Columbus Veterinary Hospital until 2000. He has been a fixture that many of you have come to know and love. Chet does find time to come in and help out in his limited free time, so you may happen to see him while you are here. If that does happen, sit down, because you are in for a treat! Be prepared, because he will certainly have a story or two to tell about some of the animals he has had over the years. Having been born and raised until the age of nine on a farm in rural southeastern Ohio. The rest of his formative years were spent in Columbus, “Flytown” neighborhood, which is now called Victorian Village. Chet has a lot of experience with animals of all types. He has raised doves, rabbits, cockatiels, fish and of course many dogs over the years. He is very passionate about animals and their care.
Chet is currently very busy in retirement. He is raising his granddaughter and spoiling his children, (nine daughters and one son) and 22 other grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. He is also active in his church, and sings in the church choir.
He has many hobbies, but finds the time to enjoy cooking, gardening, and painting.
